Atlantic Canadians put to the test on returning lost wallets — and PASS!

January 10, 2018 | by: aaronarmstrong

We Atlantic Canadians are well known for many things — our warm blood, politeness, harsh winters, tasty donairs, tourist attractions, and now — honesty!

We nearly outbeat supercomputers in telling the truth. Honest!

We at least get a passing grade at honesty, trust, & fairness — Atlantic Credit Unions put us to the test recently, by placing 12 wallets throughout public places in the Atlantic provinces.

Would they be found & turned in, or would they be “lost forever?”

Each wallet was filled with about $100 cash, bus tickets, receipts, debit card, and an “if found, please return to” card inside.

Within hours, phone calls were pouring in of random strangers finding these lost wallets.

Nine out of the twelve wallets were found & turned in — with its contents completely in tact. That’s a 75% passing grade!

Give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it.

Those who turned the wallets in were rewarded with keeping the money — then, a donation on behalf of the credit unions were made to a charity of the good samaritan’s choice!

This just goes to show that Atlantic Canadians rule. <3
