‘Don’t Be An Idiot’ rule #2617: Do your best to clean snow off your windows, hood & roof before driving
Just some quick reminders:
- Yes, you can get fined for driving with snow or ice covering your vehicle’s windows.
- Yes, you can get fined if snow or ice chunks fly off the roof of your car.
- Yes, you can get fined for your windows icing over after you’ve started driving and let it build up to the point you can barely see through.
Driving with snow on your hood can break/fly off or slide forward when accelerating, causing you (or someone else) to lose visibility.
When applying brakes, snow can come crashing forward — sliding off your roof & causing damage to your wipers or covering your windshield visibility, at the least. Always do your best to clean the ice off if/when you can!
Remember to always drive safe — not just for you & your passengers, but for those around you as well.
