Most people dread the 1st week of August because it means Summer is winding down.
…Not new Brunswickers, though — We dread the 1st week of August because it means NB Power rate hikes are now here, & gas prices will be rising significantly following faint relief at the pumps.
NB Power rates are rising, for both Residential & Industrial customers, by 0.96% — just by a small addition this time. Combined, these small hikes add up quick.
It’s not as bad as it could have been, though — last fall, NB Power originally applied for an average 2% rate hike to kick off in April.
That’s not all that’s aboard the rate hike train, though — gas predictions for New Brunswick are in, & it’s looking like prices are going to be going up just in time for the long weekend!
Regular fuel is predicted to climb 3¢ per litre — while Diesel is projected for a 1¢ climb.
