Moncton man charged with 1st degree murder following discovery of body

On September 26, Codiac RCMP began investigating a suspicious death after receiving reports of a female body was found on West Lane in Moncton.

New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit was able to positively identify the remains of 35-year-old Candice Kennedy-Faguy of Moncton, who was reported as missing to RCMP on Sunday.

On September 27th, police arrested 44-year-old Claude Blanchard of Moncton & have since charged him with 1st degree murder in the connection with Candice’s death.

“Blanchard has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to Moncton Provincial Court on October 19, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing.
