Moncton man arrested in connection with 20+ vehicle gas thefts

RCMP New Brunswick:

“A 53-year-old Moncton man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a number of thefts of gas in areas served by the Southeast District RCMP and Codiac Regional RCMP.

Since late October 2018, the RCMP has received at least 20 reports of gas thefts in which holes have been drilled in the gas tank of a vehicle and the gas drained out. Eleven of the reports were in the Codiac area, and nine in the southeast part of the province.

On November 15, as a result of the investigation, police arrested the man in Salisbury. He is has been released on a promise to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on March 19, 2019.”
