A former investment dealer from Moncton facing charges of fraud was in court yesterday.

Catherine Darlene Ford was arrested in late June in the U.S. then handed over to R.C.M.P. in Niagara Falls, Ontario on Tuesday.

She's charged with defrauding seven people in the Moncton area of nearly a million dollars.

Ford, who also goes by Darlene Ryan, is a former employee of Scotia Capital in Moncton.

She was fired two years ago for mismanaging funds.

The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada claims $970,000 belonging to five clients went missing between 2005 and 2010.

They fined her a million dollars and barred her from working in investments but say she never showed up to the hearing.
