Codiac Transit Receives Funding For New Buses

The provincial and federal governments have announced an agreement that will make more than $176 million in combined funding available under two new federal programs — the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund and the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund.

Also announced today was an initial list of 51 approved projects under the two new programs, including new buses for Moncton’s Codiac Transit.

Under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund, the provincial government is providing $19.8 million and the federal government $39.7 million to help fund water and wastewater projects.

Under the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund, the federal government is providing $8.6 million and municipalities $8.7 million to support four public transit projects.
