Moncton airport renamed
The Moncton airport is now officially The Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport.
Federal Minister of Transport Marc Garneau was on hand to announce the new name this morning along with LeBlanc’s son.
Romeo Leblanc, who hailed from the Memramcook Valley, was the first Maritimer and Acadian to serve as governor general from 1994 to 1999.
Beausejour MP, Government House Leader and Fisheries Minister Dominic LeBlanc says seeing the airport named after his father was moving.
