Man Accused of Arson in Devastating Bathurst Fire Waives Bail

A man accused of started a fire that caused millions of collars in damage to Bathurst’s Downtown Core will remain in custody until his next court appearance. Perry Kinsmen waived his right to bail on Friday and will next appear in court on September 12th. Kinsmen is charged with starting a fire on November 27th of 2015 that destroyed several buildings in Bathurst. A number of apartments and businesses burned to the ground, including the Bank of Montreal building which was nearly one hundred years old.
