Soapbox derby

Hundreds of drivers put their skills to the test hoping their machine was the fastest yesterday. The drivers also built the soapbox racers.

The Times and Transcript reports the 5th annual Moncton Soapbox Derby went off without a hitch as children as young as eight races down St. George Boulevard. The event was organized by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick. Kids and parents spent months building their machines and getting to race in something that wasn’t a video game.
