Garbage bag changes Monday

Clear garbage bags are quickly being snatched from store shelves as new garbage collection rules will be going into effect Monday in southeastern New Brunswick, according to the Times and Transcript.

Residents in Metro Moncton and 15 other municipalities are moving to a three bag system…with the present green and blue bags plus a clear one for the rest of the trash so the garbage collectors can see what’s in it.

Gena Alderson, the commission’s waste diversion coordinator, said they will be flexible and accommodating in the first few weeks asking people to give it a try.
