Tories choose leader

The P-Cs have chosen Blaine Higgs as their new leader…and the Quispamsis MLA admits there are wounds that need to be healed in the party.

The Times and Transcript reports Higgs, a former executive at Irving Oil, won the leadership race despite some concerns he is a uniligual Anglophone. Higgs said there’s an opportunity for the party to change the game of politics and not to blow it. The former Finance Minister in the Alward Government said he wants to change politics through financial accountability, measurable results, and frank fiscal discussions without political spin.
