Rainfall & Wind Warnings in effect for Moncton & Southeast NB

Heavy rainfall & high winds are expected in Moncton & southeast New Brunswick this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued both a rainfall warning & wind warning in effect for the region, with rough weather expected for Saturday & Sunday.

30mm to 70mm of rain is projected over southern regions of New Brunswick, with wind gusts up to 90kph this weekend.

Moncton is projected to receive 30mm between Saturday & Sunday morning, with strong winds continuing into Sunday afternoon.

“Rain, at times heavy, will spread across New Brunswick beginning this morning with precipitation beginning as snow over northern most regions. The rain will persist Saturday night and then taper to showers and then flurries Sunday morning. The highest rainfall amounts are expected near the Fundy coast. A wind warning was issued over the Tantramar Marsh area for strong southwesterly winds Sunday morning and afternoon.”

Saturday will bring a high of 8° in the afternoon. Temperatures will climb overnight to 13° by Sunday morning, with temperatures dropping back to 8° by the afternoon.
