Raises for Moncton council

Moncton City Council is going to be getting substantial raises.

Council adopted a compensation model, recommended by the Enhancing Democracy Committee in the spring to attract more people to run for office, according to the Times and Transcript.

It would see the Mayor’s salary increase by 20% and councillors by 35%. City staff will now put together a bylaw for the next council meeting. It will then have to undergo three readings.
