SUMMARY:Shoppers Drug Mart Run For Women
DESCRIPTION:The Shoppers Drug Mart Run For Women returns to Moncton this weekend\, surrounding Centennial Park with plenty of runners & funds raised for a great cause! \n“Women’s mental health is continuously impacted by changes in society. 60% of women aged 18 to 34 and 63% of women aged 35 to 54 said their mental health had worsened over the past two years. Our purpose is to support these women by bringing communities together in support of local women’s mental health programs to make communities healthier.” \nThis is a 5K and 10K walk/run in support of local women’s mental health programs — happening in 18 cities across Canada — with this year’s Moncton run proudly supporting the “Little Courageous” trauma-informed daycare operated by the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre Inc. The run can also be held virtually this year! \n“At the Run for Women\, everyone is part of the team. We celebrate everyone’s differences\, unique experiences\, and ideas by coming together for a feel-good walk/run/roll in support of women’s mental health programs. The Run for Women is a safe space where we can share our journeys and celebrate how far we’ve come. We believe in the power of coming together for mental health.” \n This year’s start/finish area has moved to within Centennial Park (lower bowl). \nStart Times: \n\n8:30am – 1K Little Steps\n8:50am – Welcome and Warm-up\n9:15am – 10K start\n9:30am – 5K start\n\n**NOTICE: There will be a lane closure in “the northernmost westbound lane of St. George Boulevard from Sixth Street to Firebreak Road” between 6am & 1pm on race day\, to accommodate runners.** \nRoute maps\, registration/donation info & more: Run For Women \n
